Description:

The Software Development Division of Pubali Bank has created a Mobile Application called PI (π) to provide banking services to our customers. PI Banking is the Mobile Financial Service offered by Pubali Bank Limited, which allows customers to access their accounts and obtain general information about bank products and services through mobile devices. The introduction of electronic banking services aims to offer customers a more responsive and cost-effective alternative.

The name for the Mobile App, PI (π), was chosen for several reasons:
<ul>
 <li>It is short and easy to remember.</li>
 <li>Previously, the smallest unit of currency was referred to as PI (BD).</li>
 <li>PI also implies money receivables.</li>
 <li>In mathematics, PI is equal to 22/7 = 3.1428571429..., which represents infinite possibilities.</li>
 <li>PI Banking also stands for Pubali Internet Banking.</li>
</ul>

To access these services, customers need to follow these steps to activate the PI App:
<ol>
 <li>The interested customer must download and install the PI (π) App from the iOS App Store.</li>
 <li>The customer must provide their Account Number, Name, Date of Birth, Email, Mobile Number, Father's Name, and Mother's Name through the App.</li>
 <li>The branch concerned will verify the provided information with the Physical Account Opening Form from Pubali Integrated Banking System. Once matched, the branch will communicate with the customer to ensure authenticity.</li>
 <li>After verification from the branch, the ICT Operation Division will communicate with the customer for PI Banking user activation.</li>
 <li>Upon activation, the customer can log in using their User ID and Password, along with secret information previously provided for verification.</li>
 <li>After the first login, the customer can change their Password and subsequently change it as frequently as desired.</li>
</ol>

The Mobile App provides our customers with the following services:

A) Non-transactional features:
<ul>
 <li>My account (Balance of the Accounts)</li>
 <li>Last 5 (five) transactions (configurable to allow for an increased number of transactions)</li>
 <li>Viewing account statements</li>
 <li>Payment status of issued cheques</li>
 <li>Cheque book requisition</li>
 <li>Stop payment of cheque</li>
 <li>Submitting Positive Pay Instruction</li>
</ul>

B) Transactional features:
<ul>
 <li>Fund Transfer</li>
 <ul>
 <li>Between Pubali Bank's accounts</li>
 <li>Between Pubali Bank and other banks through NPSB, BEFTN, and RTGS</li>
 </ul>
 <li>Mobile recharge (Postpaid or Prepaid)</li>
 <li>Bills payment</li>
 <ul>
 <li>Card Management: Card Bill Payment, Card Statement</li>
 <li>Fund Transfer (Any Bank)</li>
 <ul>
 <li>Card to Card</li>
 <li>Card to Account</li>
 <li>Card to MFS</li>
 </ul>
 <li>Credit Card Bill Payment</li>
 <li>E-Commerce Enable or Disable (currently in progress)</li>
 <li>Fund Management (currently in progress)</li>
 <li>Creating FDR/any deposit account</li>
 <ul>
 <li>Encashment</li>
 <li>FDR or Recurring Deposit A/C fund transfer to source A/C (SB, CC, CD, SND)</li>
 </ul>

We prioritize the security of customer data transmitted through the Internet. To ensure protection against unauthorized disclosure, alteration, and fraudulent activities, we have partnered with "Sectigo" under a license agreement. This service employs encryption enabled by a Server's Digital Certificate using the "Sectigo" software, which is widely recognized for web-server security. Additionally, our banking system's server is protected by the reputable CISCO Firewall, Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), and Intrusion Detection System (IDS) to safeguard against unauthorized access.
